I have been working for ARCS-SPAN for a couple of weeks. There’s way more that
goes on here. I am an ARCER. An ARCER is a young adult who is pursuing independence, purpose, and meaning in their life. I know a bit about the purpose and benefits of the organization. However, working first hand with ARCS-SPAN has made me really appreciate all the hard work and dedication that truly goes into it. I learned a lot through ARCS-SPAN, like how to start you own business, and the importance of reaching out for assistance. Part of my job is working on the Equine Facilitated Learning Program. The program allowed me to spend the day with horses. I got to groom a horse and admire the horse’s beauty which was really relaxing. Being in the horse’s presence gives you a new perspective on things, because you are not able to focus on anything else but the experience. Being in solitude and nature makes you appreciate the simpler things in life, the thing’ that matter. I am really grateful for the opportunity to work with ARCS- SPAN and learn a new set of working skills, people skills, and tech skills I didn’t have before getting involved. |
